Birds, night skies, and the small moments that reward attention.

I have a habit of getting distracted by things that don't make sense at first glance. A bird behaving strangely, an unexpected interaction, or something barely visible in the night sky. Those are usually the moments that make me reach for my camera.

About

I photograph birds, landscapes, and the night sky. But the photographs I remember most aren't necessarily the prettiest ones. They're the ones that made me stop and wonder what was going on.

Sometimes that means waiting for hours to see what a bird does next. Other times, I realize I've been watching the wrong bird entirely. I've missed plenty of good photographs that way, but I've also noticed things I wouldn't have otherwise.

Astrophotography is a little different. Most of the time, I already know what's out there. The challenge is figuring out how to bring something almost invisible into view.

And sometimes, even after taking the photograph, I'm still not quite sure what I've seen.
